Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that nursing duties and services are consistent with state nursing practice guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of individual patients’ histories, current progress, and treatment goals.
- Assess patients and make appropriate nursing decisions based on their needs.
- Recognize and respond promptly to any changes in patient conditions, facilitating necessary interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
- Serve as a resource for problem-solving, conflict resolution, and patient care issues.
- Ensure patients are prepared for activities and accompany them as needed.
- Clearly articulate the role of the Registered Nurse in emergencies, including cardiopulmonary arrest.
- Coordinates care with ancillary clinical departments to provide optimal patient care.
Education:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute/post-acute or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire.
- Patient de-escalation training (SAMA) is required within 30 days of hire.
